A Sneak Peek Inside Chapter Three
“So, are you going to tell me about this deep dark secret,” I glanced at Joey. “Or am I going to have to tickle you,” I was serious for about a second, and then I smiled. Joey smiled back, and then he poked me with his elbow. I elbowed him back.
“Ouch!” he said rubbing his side. “You have bony elbows.”
“No I don’t!” I pouted, and then laughed. “Come on, tell me!”
“We’re going to Raven Hill,” Matt blurted out.
“What’s Raven Hill?” I glanced at Matt and wrinkled my eyebrows.
“Are you kidding?” Matt asked. “You don’t know about Raven Hill?”
I stared at him; he actually looked shocked. “I just moved here, remember!”
“Yeah, but doesn’t your grandparents live here?” Matt looked confused.
“Your mother never told you?” Joey looked at Matt, and then at me. “Your grandmother never told you?”
“Are you for real! Everybody knows about Raven Hill!” Matt frowned.
“Well, I don’t! What is it?”
“It’s just the scariest place around, that’s what it is,” Matt said. “I get goose bumps just talking about it, look!” he showed me his arm.
“Why? What’s so scary about it?”
“It’s haunted,” Matt whispered. His eyes got wide, and then he shivered. “Look, more goose bumps.”
